I’m too sexy for my car, too sexy for …. Can you hear that tune in your head right now? Or have I singled myself out as the only one old enough or willing to admit that she listened to 80s music and maybe even enjoyed it.  Speaking of enjoying things, I thought I’d wake everyone up this Monday morning (okay, maybe afternoon) with our infamous rejected sexy guy ad. A while back, we submitted this ad to one of the more popular bead magazines. The original sign had text that read something like “Now that we have your attention…..”. We had never seen such an ad in the bead magazines and just wanted to do something a little different and fun. Something eye catching (read eye candy) that would really stand out from all the other ads! At the same time, we knew there was a good chance the ad would get rejected so we prepared a more traditional back up ad (boring!). The ad agency called us up and was very apologetic about rejecting our ad and even offered to have their designers work up a free ad design for us! It was actually quite funny! If they weren’t so darn nice about it, we would have been tempted to torture them a little and start ranting about the long hours we spent screening models, photographing half naked men, etc. Oh, the torture! Another hard day at the office! But we decided to behave ourselves and just submit our backup ad. So what do you think? Is this ad too sexy or offensive?

I can’t quite explain it but it just seems that everything is cuter when it’s miniaturized.  I’m pretty sure I was cuter when I was a Size 4 but then again, that was fifteen years and 4 kids ago so that’s a whole different story! Earlier this year,  Swarovski started producing their extremely popular crystal rondelles in a 3.5mm size. We couldn’t help but ooh and ahh when they came in. They were so tiny and cute.  Little powerhouses of sparkle.  Baby crystal rondelles! We think they make a nice addition to our current line of Swarovski round rondelles and we’re sure you’ll agree.

Every once in a while, we receive in a new product line that brings business to a halt in the Purchasing Department. Our new line of silver lined large hole glass beads fall into this category. Everyone who walked by this shipment had to stop, look, ogle, and pick up these beads. They were unanimously approved by everyone in the warehouse and office who saw them and we’re very excited to introduce them to our customers. Check them out today!

We are happy to announce that we’ve recently reduced our prices on Preciosa Crystal.  Our fabulous purchasing manager has been working hard to obtain better prices for INM Crystal on Preciosa crystal. Thanks to her hard work, we are able to pass those savings along to our customers.  Preciosa is a leading producer of cut crystal beads from the Czech Republic. Preciosa crystal beads are known for their outstanding clarity, sparkle and quality. These beads are machine cut and polished and feature precision facets. They are similar to Swarovski crystal beads and pendants but at a much lower cost.  INM Crystal carries a wide variety of Preciosa crystal, including crystal Bicones, Rounds, Pendants, Hearts and the increasingly popular Rivoli. Preciosa also carries some unique colors including our favorites;  Lagoon, Capri Gold and Pink Candy.

If you were stranded on a desert island with your jewelry supplies (you wouldn’t be traveling without them would you?) and had to pick just one all purpose bail to bring with you then this is the bail you would want to bring! We’ve been testing this bail out lately (more about that later) and have found it to be a very versatile size that fits a large amount of our Swarovski Crystal pendants. Speaking of bails, we get a lot of questions in customer service about which bails fit which pendants and vice versa. So we thought “Hey! Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a cross reference for this?” It has to beat schlepping out to the warehouse to fit them every time we get a question about it right? We enlisted our IT guy to build us something to help us with this project. Unfortunately, we still have to populate all the information for it to actually be useful and that might take some time. We’ve recently expanded our line of gold plated and silver plated headpins. These economical headpins come in wholesale packs of 100 pieces for only a fraction of the cost of Sterling Silver headpins or 14 Karat Gold Filled headpins. Our base metal headpins are available in lengths of 1”, 2” and 3” in Gauge 21 through Gauge 24.

We have renamed our Miyuki seed beads to the standard Miyuki bead color names.  These changes have been made to the size 6/0 seed beads, the size 8/0 seed beads and the size 11/0 seed beads. We hope this makes it easier for our customers to find their Miyuki seed bead colors!
